Taiwan's unemployment rate drops to 4.07% in Apr

May. 24, 2013 (China Knowledge) - Taiwan saw its unemployment rate decrease 0.03 percentage points in April this year to 4.07%, according to the latest statistics released by the island's Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics.

The figure last month was lower than the 4.17% it realized in March 2013, and is the lowest level since August 2008.

It is expected that Taiwan's unemployment rate will gradually increase in the next few months as graduation season approaches, said an official in the island's Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics.

According to the statistics, Taiwan's seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 4.19% in April 2013, lower than 4.2% the island recorded in March this year.
