Beijing E-Town tops in the capital for H1 2017 GDP growth

Aug 3, 2017 (China Knowledge) - Beijing Economic Technological Development Area or Beijing E-Town, a triple-A rated industrial park, tops the ranking in the capital Beijing by GDP growth in the first half of this year. The industrial agglomeration effect has significantly improved aided by the "cutting-edge" economic structural reform.

 

According to statistics, the area realized a 13.7% growth in GDP in the reporting period, 6.9% higher than the capital's average. Its value-added industrial output totaled RMB 37.22 billion in the H1, upped 18.7% from a year earlier and account for 20.7% of Beijing's total.

 

Beijing E-Town's gross industrial output hit RMB 160.75 billion in the H1, accounting for 19.2% of Beijing's total reflecting a YoY growth of 31.2%, 27.1% higher than Beijing's average. Its tax revenue grew 28.6% YoY to RMB 31.88 billion and general public revenue jumped 39.6% to RMB 12.67 billion in the period.

 

With a strong all-sectors industrial output growth Beijing E-Town's six pillar industries including high-end automobile, biomedical, urbanization, new energy and new material industry achieved a YoY growth for the first time in the past four years.

 

In Jun, the secretary of the municipal party committee of Beijing Cai Qi put forward the 12th Beijing Congress of the Communist Party of China to build a foremost position for innovation-driven development represented by Beijing E-Town and the demonstration area for "Made in China 2025".

 

Beijing E-Town will build a technological innovation center with global influence and establish over 20 global leading technology innovation centers. Meanwhile, it is cultivating a number of enterprises with market revenue of over RMB 10 billion or even RMB 100 billion, as well as 50 enterprises with global competitiveness.

 

On the other hand, the park is also making full use of modern science and technology to build another demonstration area for green development in accordance with highest international standards.
