Beijing Electric Vehicle Co up production to 200,000 units

Aug 1, 2017 (China Knowledge) – Beijing Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd or BAIC BJEV, the electric vehicle arm of BAIC Motor, has recently increased its annual output capacity to over 200,000 units to meet increasing demand.

In 2016, BJEV topped the ranking in China's new energy car industry with annual sales of 52,000 units. In the first half of this year, BJEV sold over 30,000 cars and its cumulative sales hit 100,000 units in four years with market share of 26%. The company's EU 206 has become the best-selling model in the market, and the latest EU 300 will be launched in the market soon.

BAIC BJEV was officially launched in Beijing E-Town, a triple-A rated industrial park, in Nov 2009. As the advance manufacturing cluster in the capital, Beijing E-Town is building a complete auto industry chain.

Beijing E-Town aims to build China's first new energy automotive technology innovation and R&D center as well as hi-tech auto manufacturing center. Its new energy auto industry is built in Caiyu New Energy Automobile Industrial Park. The park will form a complete new energy auto industry chain including vehicle assembly, electronic control and auto parts production with annual output value of over RMB 100 billion.

Currently, the Caiyu New Energy Automobile Industrial Park has attracted many new energy car related enterprises that includes Beijing Pride Power System Technology, Beijing Asia-Pacific Automobile Chassis System Co and Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Parts.

The development of new energy car industry cluster is now the bedrock and demonstration area for "Made in China 2025".
