Beijing E-Town becomes the showcase for Made in China 2025

Jul 5, 2017 (China Knowledge) - Beijing E-Town, the major development area of China National Science and Technology Innovation Center, has developed into a technological innovation hub. The area is now the centerpiece of various hi-tech industry clusters earning the title of Made in China 2025.


According to statistics released from 2014 to 2016, the average annual GDP's growth rate and value-added industrial output of Beijing E-Town reached 8.7% and 8.1% YoY, respectively, while the average growth of gross output and industrial profit hit 6.8% and 18% YoY. Latest figures also show that in the first five months of this year, Beijing E-Town's gross industrial output surged 30.6% YoY to RMB 131.24 billion, while its tax revenue and foreign trade value went up 27.6% and 17.3% YoY to RMB 27.2 billion and RMB 36.7 billion, respectively.


Currently there are four pillar industries in the acclaimed triple-A rated industrial park that includes digital information, bio-medicine, automotive and equipment manufacturing. These industries leverage and benefit from the newly-built largest airport, green energy initiatives and many government support schemes. Other offshoots from these developments are semiconductor, bio-medicine, new energy vehicles, auto assembly, new display technology, smart equipment, internet and ecommerce.


To deepen the structural reforms on the supply Beijing E-Town is accelerating the transformation of government functions and enhancing the government service to create a business ecosystem that garners global competitiveness and sustainability.


Emphasizing the important of green living environment and long term sustainability the area has adopted and applied the latest technology featuring low-carbon, energy-saving, environment-friendly, smart city management.
