Beijing E-Town attracts global talents with quality and green living

Jun 27, 2017 (China Knowledge) - The 2017 National Science and Technology Innovation Center Construction Conference puts highlight on Zhongguancun Science City, Huairou Science City, Future Science City and Beijing Economic Technological Development Area (BDA).


Beijing Economic Technological Development Area also known as Beijing E-Town, a triple-A rated industrial park evolves on the theme of cultivating overseas talents that could promote the development of its high-end industries.


Currently, Beijing E-Town has gathered tens of thousands of highly-skilled talents including thousands of returnees, hundreds of talents listed in the "Yiqinlin" project, and hundreds selected from the Beijing's listed in "The 1,000 Individuals" plan, said Wang Hesheng, deputy director of the BDA management committee.


Capitalizing on these manpower and talent resource, this triple-A rated industrial park has channeled valuable human capital into its four pillar industry clusters comprising biomedical, electronic information, equipment manufacturing and automobile. It has become a leading area by the proportion of high-tech industry output to industrial output value.


As the experimental zone for Beijing's talent management reform, Beijing E-Town has issued several policies to introduce high-level talents including setting up Boda Contribution Award and funding to support overseas high-level talents.


The area provides more hundreds low-cost quality housing units for these people and provide many other free services to attract more high level talents to the area. Striving for world-class living standards and green environment that could attract talents globally, Wang added.
