Beijing E-Town expands regionally to include Tianjin and Hebei

Jan 13, 2016 (China Knowledge) - The Jing-Jin-Ji Innovation and Development Alliance held its first workshop on the industry cooperation for development zones in the Jing-Jin-Ji, namely, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, in Beijing E-Town last month.

 

The workshop attracted 23 members various industry alliances, 20 business associations and 30 investment companies to discuss industry cooperation issues in the Jing-jin-Ji. It resulted the formation of 8 innovative investment projects, including the Ziondesk Desktop Cloud project and the manufacturing program of small civilian helicopters, with a total investment of RMB 5 billion.

 

The Jing-Jin-Ji Innovation and Development Alliance has been formed by the China Association of Development Zones, Jing-Jin-Ji Development Zone Association and other 14 national development zones from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province.

 

The projects are mainly focused on the high-tech industry and production-related services. There will also be a resource library for startup to collect, screen and preserve the information of potential projects provided by the alliance's long-term partners, such as the International Technology Transfer Center of Tsinghua University.

 

On a regular basis the alliance would hold exchanges and invite investors as well as financial institutions to participate in new projects.

 

An official at the administrative committee of Beijing E-Town said the Jing-Jin-Ji Innovation and Development Alliance will provide a platform for information exchange and to meet the needs of new projects.

 

Recognized as a strategic integration of Hebei and Tianjin into Beijing the Central government has mapped this as an important 13th Five-Year Plan stretching from 2016 to 2020 for the region future development.
