China Knowledge bond market daily summary

Oct 9, 2017 (China Knowledge) - On Sep 30, the settlement of cash bonds down 54.81% from its previous trading day to RMB 70.43 billion and the settlement of bond lending down 91.75% to RMB 500 million, according to China Central Depository & Clearing Co., Ltd.


The benchmark weighted-average 14-day repo rate down 111.7 bps to 3.574%, and the 21-day repo down 92.9 bps to 4.213%. The overnight Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate (SHIBOR) up 13.40 bps to 2.9380%, and the 7-day SHIBOR up 0.32 bps to 2.9671%.


The yield on 1Y Treasury bonds up 0.75 bps to 3.47% while that on 3Y up 1.55 bps to 3.57%. The yield on 7Y and 5Y treasury bonds up 0.37 bps and 1.22 bps to 3.69% and 3.62%, respectively. The yield on 10Y remained flat at 3.61%.


On the policy bank bonds front, the yield on 1Y policy bank bonds (CDB) up 0.69 bps to 3.95%. The yield on 5Y down 0.01 bps to 4.26%, and the yield curve (10Y) down 0.46 bps to 4.19%.


In addition, the yields on 1Y policy bank bonds (Exim Bank) up 0.69 bps to 4.00%, while the yields on 5Y and 10Y reached 4.34% and 4.35%, respectively.


The yield on 1Y corporate bonds (AAA-rated) reached 4.54%, while that on the 10Y debenture was 4.87%.


Bond code 150223, 170401 and 170301 were the top three actively traded bonds, with a trading volume of RMB 5.06 billion, RMB 4.70 billion and RMB 4.28 billion, respectively.    


The top three performers by debt type were Policy Financial Bond, CDs and Treasury Bond with trading volume of RMB 58.38 billion, RMB 36.94 billion and RMB 13.66 billion, representing 49.76%, 31.48% and 11.64% of the total cash bond trading volume, respectively.
