China Knowledge bond market daily summary

Jul 12, 2017 (China Knowledge) - On Jul 11, the settlement of cash bonds down 17.74% from its previous trading day to RMB 195.71 billion and the settlement of bond lending down 40.06% to RMB 3.76 billion, according to China Central Depository & Clearing Co., Ltd.


The benchmark weighted-average overnight repo rate up 9.6 bps to 2.646%, and the 7-day repo up 12.9 bps to 2.942%. The overnight Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate (SHIBOR) up 7.20 bps to 2.6210%, and the 7-day SHIBOR up 2.80 bps to 2.8120%.


The yield on 1Y Treasury bonds up 0.00 bp to 3.46% while that on 3Y down 0.27 bp to 3.48%. The yield on 7Y and 10Y treasury bonds down 0.50 bp and 0.74 bp to 3.61% and 3.58%, respectively. The yield on 5Y up 0.95 bp to 3.51%.


On the policy bank bonds front, the yield on 1Y policy bank bonds (CDB) up 2.74 bps to 3.78%. The yield on 5Y down 1.18 bps to 4.14%, and the yield curve (10Y) down 1.12 bps to 4.19%.


In addition, the yields on 1Y policy bank bonds (Exim Bank) up 3.74 bps to 3.88%, while the yields on 5Y and 10Y reached 4.17% and 4.28%, respectively.


The yield on 1Y corporate bonds (AAA-rated) reached 4.40%, while that on the 10Y debenture was 4.82%.


Bond code 170210, 170401 and 170009 were the top three actively traded bonds, with a trading volume of RMB 22.96 billion, RMB 10.27 billion and RMB 9.37 billion, respectively.    


The top three performers by debt type were CDs, Policy Financial Bond and Treasury Bond with trading volume of RMB 159.96 billion, RMB 124.16 billion and RMB 41.73 billion, representing 38.30%, 29.72% and 9.99% of the total cash bond trading volume, respectively.
