China Knowledge bond market daily summary

Jul 11, 2017 (China Knowledge) - On Jul 10, the settlement of cash bonds up 16.37% from its previous trading day to RMB 237.62 billion and the settlement of bond lending up 78.25% to RMB 6.27 billion, according to China Central Depository & Clearing Co., Ltd.


The benchmark weighted-average 7-day repo rate up 2.2 bps to 2.813%, and the 14-day repo up 1.4 bps to 3.587%. The overnight Shanghai Interbank Offered Rate (SHIBOR) up 1.60 bps to 2.5490%, and the 7-day SHIBOR down 0.18 bp to 2.7840%.


The yield on 1Y Treasury bonds up 0.04 bp to 3.46% while that on 3Y up 0.93 bp to 3.48%. The yield on 7Y and 10Y treasury bonds up 1.00 bp and 0.14 bp to 3.61% and 3.59%, respectively. The yield on 5Y up 1.62 bps to 3.50%.


On the policy bank bonds front, the yield on 1Y policy bank bonds (CDB) down 2.40 bps to 3.75%. The yield on 5Y up 1.78 bps to 4.15%, and the yield curve (10Y) up 0.12 bp to 4.20%.


In addition, the yields on 1Y policy bank bonds (Exim Bank) up 2.62 bps to 3.85%, while the yields on 5Y and 10Y reached 4.17% and 4.29%, respectively.


The yield on 1Y corporate bonds (AAA-rated) reached 4.40%, while that on the 10Y debenture was 4.82%.


Bond code 170010, 170210 and 170009 were the top three actively traded bonds, with a trading volume of RMB 32.17 billion, RMB 24.68 billion and RMB 24.15 billion, respectively.    


The top three performers by debt type were Policy Financial Bond, CDs and Treasury Bond with trading volume of RMB 128.59 billion, RMB 127.38 billion and RMB 88.79 billion, representing 29.88%, 29.60% and 20.63% of the total cash bond trading volume, respectively.
