Sep 27, 2017 (China Knowledge) – Beiren Group Corporation, once a major printer manufacturer, has undergone profound transformation from a traditional producer to a hi-tech robotic plant, with the assistance from Beijing E-Town, a triple-A rated industrial park and home to many hi-tech industry clusters including global robot R&D, design and innovation center.
As the printing industry continues to shrink, Beiren, a hi-tech equipment manufacturer set up in 1980s, faces many challenges to keep pace with the changing market and technology to maintain its competitiveness.
Beiren leverages the surrounding resources, supply chain and innovation of the robotic and artificial intelligence (AI) at Beijing E-Town to reduce its reliance on old equipment manufacturing techniques to automate and upgraded its entire manufacturing processes. Coincidentally, on the same old site the idle area was used as the permanent site for World Robot Conference. The transformation and use of the old manufacturing site is symbolic as the former production and assembly line represent how a traditional manufacturer to become leading hi-tech enterprise.
Beijing E-Town, the demonstration zone of “Made in 2025” plan, has emerged as a global robot R&D, design and innovation center, home to more than 100 robot enterprises accounting for over 50% of the whole industry in Beijing.
