Hefei High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Hefei HIDZ) is located southeast of Hefei, the capital of central China's Anhui Province. Hefei HIDZ was established in October 1991 and was approved as a state-level High-tech Export Base in 2000. In 2007, it became a HIDZ open to member nations of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation. Hefei HIDZ has a software park, a university High-tech park, a biomedical park, an automobile park and an incubator park. The total area of Hefei HIDZ is around 18.5 sq km.

There are five railway lines running through Hefei and an international airport with more than 20 flights a day to important Chinese cities including Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. Additionally, Hefei's main trunk roads connect it with developed cities such as Shanghai and Hangzhou.
