Introduction
Shanghai Jinshan Industrial Park (Shanghai Jinshan IP), located within Jinshan District in the southwestern part of Shanghai, consists of Jinshan Industrial Zone, Jinshan No. 2 Industrial Zone and Zhangyan Industrial Zone.

Covering an area of 25.81 sq km, Shanghai Jinshan IP was approved as a municipal-level development zone by the Shanghai municipal government in 2006.

The park is 48 km from the People's Square, the downtown area of Shanghai. Shanghai Hongqiao Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, the two airports in Shanghai, are 42 km and 58 km from the zone, respectively. The park is within a half-hour drive of Shanghai Port, the second- largest port in the world. The Hangzhou Bay Bridge, which is 33 km from the park, shortens the distance from Shanghai to the cities in Zhejiang Province. Shanghai Jinshan IP also benefits from the railway and highway networks in Shanghai. The park is close to the Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway, the Shanghai-Beijing Railway, the Shanghai-Hangzhou Expressway and the Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway.

Investment Climate
The major industries in Shanghai Jinshan IP are fine chemicals, computers, electronic equipment and machinery. In 2013, the gross industrial output value of the park increased 8.2% year on year to RMB 20 billion. The contracted FDI hit US$251 million in 2013.

Major investors include Baxter, Kanai Tokusen, Henkel and Taijie Chem. U.S.-based Baxter International Inc, a leading medical device and pharmaceutical provider, set up a joint venture with Shanghai Changzheng Pharmaceuticals Workshop with registered capital of US$12 million.
